I've owned and managed my own server for so many years (until recently) that it has never been an issue until now. I know it's always been this way, but that doesn't mean it's the right way to do it ... If it were done correctly the MaxFound preference would limit the number of records displayed on any single page, but it would not limit the shownext links -- which means you could actually page thru all the records that match your search, instead of only getting to see the first 500 items. If the MaxFound pref is supposed to limit the number of records displayed on a single page, I think that's all it should really do. The shownext links could be limited by a separate "MaxShowNext" preference if it ever became necessary to limit the number of shownext links. -- Sincerely, Kenneth Grome ------------------------------------------------------------- Outsource your WebDNA programming for $18 an hour or less! ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
