texte = Client is holding a contest where entrants design some digital graphic and submit it for judging. Entrant goes to wbsite, fills out webform with name, address, etc.. Information is entered into database. Then entrant has to upload their graphic file. The graphic file can be up to 1MB in size. I'm not sure just now how they determined that that was the limit on the size of the file or how likely it will be that that is a realistic file size. But assuming that that is a realistic number, how reliable is browser based file uploading for that size file? Considering that some entrants may be on dial-up I think that this may be a large strain on a server...not for the size of the file but for the number of open web connections. Any thought's on alternative methods? How about giving the user an ftp link to click on? What other things should be considered? thanks, ~joe -- _______________________________________________________________ Joseph D'Andrea ~ http://www.west21.com/ ~ JoeDan@West21.com WEST21.com Internet services for the 21st Century webhosting ~ co-location ~ wireless access ~ WebCat programming ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
