texte = Cold Fusion 6.1 MX is built on the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) platformand outputs Java Byte Code. Basically each application is compiled atruntime which, for the most part would make it faster. The trade off is the amount of time it takes to code the application.Although it doesn't actually compile the application, it generates the ByteCode for the JVM to execute. This is actually called JIT or Just in TimeCompiling. This is the same technique used in the Microsoft.Net platformthat includes C#, C++, and VB which all compile to what they call the CLR orCommon Language Runtime. Both J2EE and .NET run most of the processing at the server rather than theclient. With the speed of the current servers, you are able to run richclient interfaces on the server that you could not run in the clientbrowser.WebDNA is an Interpreted language which means that the Engine already hasthe compiled code and executes the results after receiving it and thendecides what to display to the client. This is much faster and easier tocode since you are replacing the actual C or C++ code with a [WEBDNA] tag.Another benefit of WebDNA would be the internal text database which alsosaves a lot of time and overhead. This is ideal for basic applications thatDo not require a SQL server and when the speed of development is mostimportant especially since the actual speed is probably not going to benoticed in a smaller application. I am by no means an expert in any of this, I just happen to be taking aclass on Visual Studio .NET.Hope this helps,Sal D'Anna-----Original Message-----From: WebDNA Talk [mailto:WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com] On Behalf OfNitai @ ComputerOilSent: 2004-04-26 7:09 AMTo: WebDNA TalkSubject: Re: ColdFusion v.
