texte = Hi,I have coded a poll with a goal to accept only one submitionper person or machine.I use a cookie for one. This seems the most accurate way todenote one machine. Since cookies can be deleted in manybrowsers, I also us IP AND BROWSERNAME (which is far fromexact). The reason I use both (as I'm sure many of alreadydetermined, is that I don't want to leave out differentindividuals who are behind the same firewall. So I have a flag that is set to true.First, if the poster contains the cookie that getsset, the flag changes to false.Second, If there is a record in the .db that equalsboth the IP & The browsername, the flag is givena value of False. If the value is false then they can't take the poll.I figure this will cover most situations becausefirst of all, not too many people will think aboutdeleting a cookie so they can take the poll again. ;-).However, if for some reason they manage to figurethat out, I have this backup thingy. How does that sound to you all and would you suggestsomething different?Thanks,Donovan-- =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
