texte = One thing that caused me the most re-writing was the new behavior of [text][/text] in the later versions. I skipped version 4, so I don't know if this applies in your case, but in 3, text variables did not override incoming variables, but in 5 and above they do. Check to see if you have any variables set higher on the page that didn't kick in before, but now they are, possibly bodging your code in question.
