Apparently, 45 states are looking to impose sales tax for online purchases made by residents of their state, but as far as I know it hasn't been put into law as of yet. Generally speaking, from what I've read, most states require that customers pay 'use tax' on things that they buy over the internet which they did not pay sales tax for. Use tax is usually the same amount as the current sales tax for the jurisdiction. As to whether or not consumers actually do this, well that's another story :)I always told my client to be sure to read up on their local sales tax stuff just to be safe.-DanOn Tue, 14 Jun 2005 10:57:16 -0700 Jesse Proudman
