texte = oh yes, thanks for the memory jog. doh! i did set up one sandbox but never used it. then, i create a second and didn't have the two checkboxes checked. the server ran fine like this for months, but then one day for no apparent reason webcat began hogging 100% of CPU. i made that one simple change and haven't had a problem since.
