Yes, the source is intact. All I am actually trying to do is execute a Perl program. I see the program launch, then disappear in 'top', but have no idea what the problem actually is. As a demonstration, here are a few [shell] contexts I have run to demonstrate my problem: [shell]ls -l /[/shell] - the 'www' user has access to this, so it displays as it should. [shell]ls -l /Users/some_user_I_have_no_access_to/Desktop[/shell] - From the command prompt, I get "ls: : Permission denied", as I should. From the [shell] context, nothing is returned. [shell]ls -l /Users/some_user_that_does_not_exist/Desktop[/shell] - From the command prompt, I get "ls: /Users/ some_user_that_does_not_exist/Desktop/: No such file or directory", as I should. From the [shell] context, nothing is returned. > Other than that, I've only used [shell] in a limited fashion... > however, > wouldn't a failing shell command record to standard error logs? If is does, I can't find it using Console.app. Any clue where it might be?
