texte = Hi Gary! I will take your email to release more informations. WSC bought everything related to WebDNA, including source code and beta versions. The closing date of our deal with SMSI was June 26, so you all have been informed a minute after closing :-). We still do not have a programmer yet, but we are actively looking for good ones to start working asap. The "investor package" that we made as attractive as possible is aimed to collect funds and add new brains onboard, so we can start as soon as possible. About the future licensing system, we do not plan to go the OpenSource way, but to allow a WebDNA full version to run without license in exchange of an unobstrusive logo and small inscription on each served page. The license would remove this. There will be fewer versions of the lic., and prices will be reasonable. At this time, our only target is to make WebDNA a success, without leaving the "proprietary" path. Every decision we will make will be exclusively oriented to that purpose. We will do everything possible to attract new users, webmasters, designers, young programmers, application developers, all frightened by the complexity of php, java, asp or even ruby, compared to the elegance and easyness of WebDNA. We will make WebDNA more compatible with other webservers than apache, maybe with a FastCGI version. Lighttpd is a wonderful webserver and is extremely efficient with FastCGI. We also plan to add a way for WebDNA to use external libraries. But first of all, we will work on the 6.0a few bugs and make it more compatible with new platforms. The more resources we will find, the faster all this will become reality! - chris President ============================ WebDNA Software Corporation 16192 Coastal Highway Lewes, DE 19958 On Jun 27, 2008, at 3:28, Gary Krockover wrote: > Ok Donovan, et al, > > I suppose the full scoop is forth-coming, but curious minds want to > know: > > 1.
