Donovan, thanks for =responding :-)
Yes my shownext links use =command=3Dsearch, [SearchString], AND (before commenting out =since it was redundant) I even tried passing the name/value pairs =manually, even in the link. Both the links and the forms I =attempted both give the same error as per my orig. =post.
"Error: the ='search' command requires that you specify a =db"
Here's a sample =[shownext]. These are inside a search context on a [table] which =otherwise works perfectly.

I tried renaming the =table's name to something shorter, or with the extension ".db", but it =makes no difference.
I inspect =the URL (by-product of my [shownext method=3Dget] links... and see =it looks right but is more than 256 chars. Don't know if that is =the issue. I kinda doubt it. Yes, SearchString was more for =the command-based searching. I always construct the name/values manually =using shownext.
Is there some odd =reason the [shownext] get method should fail when the search and results =page are secure (https://...)?
Or does anyone have any other insight why this might be =failing?
