I agree IE8 is not that bad, except from time to time.
Up to me the problem with conditional comments is that you need to have separate file.

Hi - the best way to target different versions of IE is to use conditional comments:
I find IE8 displays valid CSS quite well, so I create one IE stylesheet and serve it to version 7 and below. =C2=A0 I then put= IE7 specific code at the top and serve IE6 specific CSS below that using the star html hack:
