texte = Hi Stuart,Looks like you need to up the processor speed by getting WebDNA 6 on one. Ifyou can run your process offline on a faster machine and then migrate thedata across, that could be an option. Probably not in your case if youcannot shutdown the primary server for 10mins or more while you crunch thedata on an offline server to migrate across later. I do that every end ofmonth for the monthly report stuff and back-ups ....offline processing andback (30 minutes down time wee hours of the morning). As for WebDNA 7 on Windows 7, I have asked the same question about when itwould be ready but have yet to get a response. I am faced with the problemof clients moving on to Windows 7 and Win 2008 servers ...both of whichWebDNA 6 cannot run on. It is a real buggeration because in South East Asiawhere I am based, everyone is jumping to the latest OS ....even the ISPs.Any bit of news on Windows WebDNA 7 running on XP Pro, Win 2003, Windows 7and Win 2008 ....will be most appreciated.Cheers Terry Nair-----Original Message-----From: Stuart Tremain [mailto:webdna@idfk.com.au] Sent: Friday, May 06, 2011 14:43To: talk@webdna.usSubject: [WebDNA] Windows v7>From my understanding v6 does not address multi-core processors. Is this correct ?Will v7 support multi-core processors ?When will v7 for windows be available ?I have moved a site to a new server and it runs like a dog, the old serverwas Pentium D 3.6GHz with 1GB RAM, the new server is Xeon 1.87GHz with 1GBRAM. The ISP doesn't have any of the old processors left and I am trying toget this site to work better. It receives a data file every day that used toprocess in about 10 mins on the old server, on the new one it takes up to 2hours - the client is hopping mad but I can't take them back to the oldserver for many reasons that I don't have time to go into.Any suggestions ???RegardsStuart TremainIDFK Web DevelopmentsAUSTRALIAwebdna@idfk.com.au
