texte = Thanks Chris,What I am really looking for is something like WebDNA 6 installer for IIS 6Win 2003 server. Sweet and clean ....run the installer, configure a fewsettings ....and we are up and running. Installing IIS 6 Metabase on IIS 7is tantamount to driving a Ferrari on 1st gear only just to keep the oldapplications running. Not really fully optimizing the benefits of 2008. Whatis worst are the patches ....or updates that roll out for 2008 ....moretinkering at times to keep things going. IIS 6 Metabase solutions issupposed to be a temp fix not a permanent solution for migrating of IIS 6 toIIS 7.5.Anyway thanks Chris for shedding some light. I am definitely going to waitfor the WebDNA 7 installer for the Windows 7 and 2008 series. If WebDNA 7can run on XP Pro and Win 2003 ...I will take that first than jump to thelatest OS when ready. I understand that it is not easy and funding isrequired for Win series. I am a true blue WebDNA addict so ...no worries, Iwill wait for that day when you break wind with good news ....;-)Cheers TDn-----Original Message-----From: christophe.billiottet@webdna.us[mailto:christophe.billiottet@webdna.us] Sent: Friday, May 06, 2011 18:56To: talk@webdna.usSubject: Re: [WebDNA] Windows v7On May 6, 2011, at 7:01, Terry Nair wrote:> As for WebDNA 7 on Windows 7, I have asked the same question about when it> would be ready but have yet to get a response. Here the instructions posted by PatrickMcCormick in 2009:Subject:[WebDNA] Installing Windows CICADA under IIS7/2008 Server Enterprise64bitFrom:Patrick McCormickI managed to get WebDNA v6.2 CICADA working under Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, 64 bit. This OS supports running 32 bit .dlls if properly configured. I'm posting the steps here in case anyone else needs it, and because I'll forget and need to look this up again.1) Before installing WebDNA, you need to make sure that you have already installed IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility, ISAPI Extension Support and ISAPI Filters on the server. Make sure you can get to the default web page with a browser and figure that out before proceeding.2) Install the Windows CICADA package. It will attempt to set up and configure the services and will likely generate an error message. We will update the installer in the future, but until then, please follow the rest of these steps.3) Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.4) Double-click "Handler Mappings" from the main IIS screen.5) Click on "Add Script Map."6) Set up the handler mapping for c:\inetpub\scripts\WebCatalogEngine\ $WebCat.dll with extensions *.tpl, *.tmpl, *.htm, *.html, plus/or any other suffixes and check to allow the ISAPI extension and execution of scripts.7) Double-click "ISAPI & CGI Restrictions" on the main IIS screen. Right-click on PHP and select "Edit Feature Settings" and check "Allow unspecified ISAPI modules."8) Right-click on the Default Application Pool (or the one you want to use if more than one) and select "Advanced Settings."9) Change the "Enable 32-bit Applications" to True. Click OK. This spawns the App Pool in 32-bit mode, so if you have other modules that need to be run in 64-bit mode, best to separate the website into two App Pools: one 32-bit and one 64-bit.10) Restart the server.-Pat---------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed tothe mailing list
