If not, then who would? .. and by what motivation?[snip] No one should expect practically anyone on this list to program the WebDNA engine, that is not who open source software relies upon. While there be someone on this list who could contribute, they would not have the time or resources to do so at any given time. There is a community out there that does have the time and once they see the benefit WebDNA would bring to website programming by opening it up to the most novice web design users, the number of programmers will grow and so will the benefit to everyone who uses WebDNA. I mean, we have all said pretty much that from the beginning it was ease of use of WebDNA that we liked so much. That you did not have to be a programmer to use it and could build some great things. Don't you think others will also see that same value and spread the word within the open source community for others to take notice? As far as motivation is concerned, it mostly comes from altruistic reasons. Sometimes it involves college students, but most of the time it is simply wanting to create something that others can use and be proud of the creation. Once created, it also looks pretty damn good on a resume and during this time of high unemployment, it would be a good time to exploit that resource. If you doubt what I have stated, simply take a look at XDA-Developers.com which has close to 5,000,000 users registered. Take a look at all of the current Roms available for hundreds of Android based phones. Each Rom is created by someone for free and users have the option of sending the programmer a donation via PayPal. Those donations don't amount to much, but could be enough for an unemployed programmer to continue working on the project. Anyways, I hope that WebDNA does some day Thrive, but in the meantime I just hope it survives.
