Yes I know it is dangerous, but some things just = don=92t install correctly using sudo
Just type su when you = need it.

btw, if you don=92t have a password = set as root, in OSX just type  
 sudo passwd = root
the first password you type is your  (admin) = password
then you type the root password - make it = different
