The fact is, that the End point doesn't work properly and doesn't stop where it is supposed to - as demonstrated by what I sent back. I probably mis-represented what the deal was, bc until you sent you example and I tested it, I didn't understand that some characters are invalid. As I mentioned, it's the not stopping that's messing me up, not the actual last character and whether it works forwards or backwards - Terry's example doesn't work: Endbefore=/> - I would LOVE to stop on that and have it actually work. I was looking for ways around that not working when I posted. and this Endbefore=[url]/>[/url] does not work.
