This shouldn't make a difference, but after I come up with a system that works I seldom change it. My Ubuntu 16.04 server setup notes say this: Run these commands to fix the WebDNA installer's bad permissions: chown -R www-data:www-data /usr/lib/cgi-bin/WebCatalogEngine chmod -R 0777 /usr/lib/cgi-bin/WebCatalogEngine chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html chmod -R 0777 /var/www/html Reboot after these commands, then check that WebDNA can write files in these folders and their subfolders.
