texte = 2070 I agree that OSX is a great operating system and I use it every day. However= , I think that hosting services like email and web are infinitely better han= dled by cloud based systems. These systems leverage all available resources in a data center so equipment= failure is no longer an issue. Network connections are significantly faster= and are much more redundant. The main reason, though, is that an OS tuned for this purpose is typically b= uilt without a graphic interface or any of the large and complicated softwar= e involved with that function. These types of OSes are lean, secure and fast= er. They are also easy to emulate, meaning virtually any such OS can run on a= ny hardware. That challenge is easier when the GUI isn=E2=80=99t involved. Today, packages like WHM/cPanel provide a graphic web interface that permits= complete management of the machine. This entire, virtual environment is al= so extremely portable using tools like Docker. Once properly configured, an= entire server can be packaged into a container. That container can then be= quickly launched on any cloud hardware and can dynamically clone as needed t= o meet load. As a service, WebDNA is, in my opinion, the absolute best server side script= ing language that has ever existed. But it has not made the transition into a= package that is compatible with today=E2=80=99s cloud hosting environments.= You would realize a large savings if you were able to dynamically spawn WebD= NA cloud instances to meet any load. You would no longer need to give a seco= nd thought, single dollar or minute of worry about physical equipment. And t= he virtual servers simply never fail. Although the Mac is the best local OS for everyone and handles these respons= ibilities well, it routinely needs reboots because there=E2=80=99s more soft= ware and more updates. The services running on a Mac are the same services -= with some tweaks, that run on cloud systems. But separating those services t= o cloud environments removes overlap between services, which must stay up, a= nd the many applications and GUI running on local equipment. There is no hypervisor - that magical system data centers use to be able to l= ive-swap CPUs, RAM, and hard drives during any failure. Without that, the M= ac can never come close (nor should it) to what cloud systems can do. Mac=E2= =80=99s are excellent user focused machines that happen to be reliable runni= ng services too. Cloud systems are lean speed freaks capable of spreading ac= ross hardware in entire and even multiple data centers. My current system ma= y have CPUs in one rack, RAM in another and hard drives in a different build= ing.
