I'm curious to know if the user adds 3 items to the shopping cart to be downloaded at their leisure, is there a way for them to download all the material at the same time? I know you can perform multiple downloads simultaneously by making separate connections to the ftp site, but I was wondering if the download could be connected to a script which would retrieve the items from the ftp server based on the results in the shopping cart and eliminate the user having to make separate connections. Using a submit button, it would then go to the ftp to download the first item, when done, go on its own to the second, third, etc., until it was completed. One programmer I talked to also suggested that the script would collect all of the material, package it, then download it onto the client machine - which seems like a lot of work as well. However, the main concern with this would be that servers may not be able to do this with the current technology as it allows the server too much power to push information onto the client machine.I hope this is clear. Thanks for your response.Jill * * * * * * * * Jill HeckMetagraphics, Inc. 831 High Street Palo Alto, California 94301phone: 415.327.8200 email: jill@metanet.com fax: 415.323.5053 web: http://www.metanet.com/ Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
