texte = I'm just an engineer, not a lawyer, but I've been told it is illegal (not just a bank's rule) to charge the credit card before it is actually ready to ship. (Mail order companies should be well versed in this law). If the inventory is in stock, or delivered over the web, I can see how the customers might not notice anything amiss on their credit card statements. But this customer's store is modelled after Amazon's, where some items in less demand have longer lead times (up to a week or two) to get in stock. Customers might notice the difference between charge and ship dates.I talked to MacAuthorize people who said it is possible to set up MacAuthorize to only authorize the transaction. Can WebMerchant handle this condition? What happens to the authorization # once an order is approved? Is it located anywhere in WebCatalog accessible areas?I'll be getting the MacAuthorize manuals later this week and will then better understand the situation. The salesperson there tried to talk me into getting the multi-user version, saying the single user version had to be attended to when dialing-up. Am I correct to presume that WebMerchant handles this attending and the single user version will suffice? Thanks for the response. I'm sure there're other WebCatalog users also interested in this two stage authorization procedure for items not immediately shipped.Sandy Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
