texte = Brian,Thanks, only a bit below average , I can truely take that as a complement. That is not bad for my first site, using a new software I just bought and just sort of learned since I'm not even a programmer. We also managed to pull off secure ordering without needing our own secure server and order management without needing Web Merchant by using authorize.net and one outside script.(not to mention no security issues of keeping or passing credit card numbers) Simplicity was what i was striving for.(error checking vs. common sense) So far no one has left out shipping information and then proceeded to make a ligitimate order , would you?. All billing information is required on authorize.net anyway and the order does not process without both reciepts, credit card and store. the checking that came with store builder was limited it seamed, and from all i've heard about it on this list it seems rather involved, over my head so far, we will add it as time permits and if it is actually an issue which so far it is not except testing. The back button is surely an issue and i think Grant gave me the fix.To SM/PCS WebCat/Web DNA credit this site was programmed in a couple of weeks by a non-programmer. Each new site we will learn and add new features and then revise the system on the proceeding ones. It seems each programmer on the list has ammassed his own arsinal of tricks. Thanks again for your input Brian,JymBrian Boegershausen wrote:> The xterragear site also has quit a few problems when it come to error > checking. > I saw the site on pacific coast and went to check out how well it was made. > Sorry to the developer, but I felt it was a bit below average. > It let me checkout without even filling in my name or address. > The only thing it ever checked for in the entire process was that my credit > card was not valid. > The site itself seemed nice, but the checkout definately needs an overhaul. > Just thought I would toss in my two cents. > > Brian Boegershausen > WebCatalog Programmer > www.collegefever.com > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Jym Duane > To: WebCatalog Talk > Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 1999 7:11 PM > Subject: A new bug? > > > Webcat Version: Linux Beta 3 (just prior to latest release) > > Site: www.xterragear.com > > > > Explaination(given by user/developer) > > > > There is an error with your shopping cart software. > > > > The error occurs with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0.
