I found a newer version for MacOS X Server (3.0700 from ftp://ftp.isd.smithmicro.com/webcatalog/unix/macosx/) and thought that would help my [sendmail] giving me an error on not finding 'EMailFolder' (which isn't supposed to be needed on MacOS X Server in the first place). I installed the new version and as per the changes the readme.txt said was immediately locked out of viewing all files with .tpl extensions so couldn't access the admin pages... doh! My bad... couldn't figure it in apache.conf so... moving on.Upon manually looking through the WebCat directory I found.. yup... 'EMailFolder' as well as EMailCompleted, EMailLog, EMailProblem... I thought, your kidding right I'm not supposed to need these at all?!? Well then I found /Admin/EmailPrefs.tpl and after downgrading versions (to view my .tpl files) I manually entered the URL and changed the email folder path to the EMailFolder in the WebCat directory. Guess what... got rid of my site error... and even wrote the order [cart] to the folder! Yippee! Uhmm.... wait a minute.. not suppose to need this stuff... suppose to tell sendmail to send the damn mail. ;-DGreat... now my orders are sitting there in 'EMailFolder' and are _not_ being sent using Unix sendmail (which is confirmed running fine and sending this message). So my question would be then... why if I don't need an 'EMailFolder' and should be using Unix sendmail is all this legacy MacOS WebCat stuff being left behind. The docs were even for MacOS. The default Admin page said WebSTAR for christsakes! Gimme a break (reference the above ftp to show you I did indeed dl and install the MacOS X Server version). If you are going to release software for different platforms at least clean up your docs and directories!!! Amazing really...So it would seem that I'm running a MacOS X Server WebCatalog binary that thinks it's still for the MacOS as far as [sendmail] goes.... meanwhile I'm losing serious credibility points here. Smith Micro isn't answering and I have no way of getting WebCatalog to tell sendmail to look in the /EMailFolder (which I don't _need_ I remind you) to send my orders sitting there. DOH!!! I am SO confused!!! [/horror] ------------------------------------------------------------- Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server.
