texte = I'm glad to see this project being opensourced. I think we're working on some sort of royalty free license that is not GPL. This way we can all use the code the way we want. I'm also glad to see this happen in the WebDNA world because it happens plenty in other web scripting languages. Perhaps a WebDNA sourceforge type movement can help us all. I know that if could offer the right tools, I could get many more projects from clients. And, despite the debate about the merits of WebDNA versus PHP, I think the tools offered to clients are more and more are not built from scratch solutions but off the shelf customizable solutions that can be resold many times over. I'd really like to see a bunch of useful and customizable features added to this database project and I know I'll contribute more as time goes by. I'd love to see the searching and sorting improved. I'd also like to hear what people think can be done about the architecture of the project. What should be stored in a preferences file, where should the preferences file be located, and the like. I think there may be other areas where WebDNA needs to create some open source competition. For example a search engine friendly bulletin board. I'd like to see a WebDNA (and MySQL if appropriate) solution developed with open source. Other languages have similar solutions, but I think it's time for a best of breed WebDNA solution. Similarly a content management system that is open source is desperately needed for WebDNA. Finally, I'd really love to see a BBEdit language module (syntax coloring, not a glossary of code snippets). Is anyone willing to either undertake this or to give money to find a programmer who'll do it for us? Ken, do you have a programmer who could do the BBEdit language module for us? By creating these tools as a community, WebDNA would have the basic tools for site building that could then be customized for specific projects using a flexible, easy syntax. New source code contributions has been received and new functionality is being worked on.If you feel that this WebDNA template is worth while, then please make a visit at www.powerpalle.dk where you can read more about the project. It is still my hope that more WebDNA developers will join the effort. Let's see...If the project is successful then I will add my messageboard (forum) to the site to discuss the project (WebDNA Digger) and other Open Source projects which we might start up.Currently I am thinking of releasing one of my other WebDNA templates as Open Source too but I will wait and see if there is any interest in working together on this one first.Again, take a look at...http://www.powerpalle.dk/(very tiny page, but it's a start)PalleOn 18/1-2004, at 22.01, devaulw@onebox.com wrote:> This looks great.
