texte = How to exactly restore a whole system volume with BRU? I tried it several times, but my target system always gets scrambled ... Maybe someone here can tell me what I'm doing wrong: - I've got a backup server with BRU server. The server is backing up my apache server, first fully then differential. This seems to work fine. - For testing purposes I want to restore the whole system to a another mac. - I set up a mac with 10.4.3, installed the BRU agent and connected it to BRU server (my apache has 10.4.9, but people at BRU told me that this doesn't matter ...) - On the server I chose the full backup set for the apache server, selected the apache servers root as source and the new macs root as target. - I did the restore without overwriting files (if I choose to do so, the target system will get a kernel panic) - After successfully restored the backupset, I restarted the target mac. - The target mac now has 10.4.9 (as the apache has), but several apps fail to start. So does Safari, DiskUtility and also the Userssection in the system preferences. My conclusion: the backup is ok for individual files or folders, but not for restoring a whole system. The guys at BRU don't know what I'm doing wrong ... Have you ever restored an OS X system successfully?
