(I know, I know, but there's no database to do a tabbed export from).Since the SKU is key to many functions, before the new item is appended to the database, I want to do a search of the database FIRST to check for a duplicate number.How/where can I do this? Within the Add page or on AdminAdded? Will I have to put another page between these two just to get the search result before moving on to Append? My simple attempts so far don't seem to even do the search correctly in the first place, so when there is a dupe, Append still records the new item.[search db=bookstore.db&eqskudata=[url][sku][/url]] [showif [numfound]>0] [founditems]

Sorry, but that SKU (UPC) is already on file: SKUs must be unique for each item.

[/founditems] [/showif] [/search]Thanks in advance for any wisdom . . . .--.Dave. webmaster metropolitan community colleges kansas city, missouri, 64111 http://www.kcmetro.cc.mo.us mailto:herriman@kcmetro.cc.mo.us Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
