End of story. The simple fact is that the current setup for Webcatalog is as an Apachemodule, which most hosting companies that are not running WebCatalogthemselves may not want to install it on their own production servershousing dozens or hundreds of hosting customers, because it would requirespecial settings to keep everyone BUT you from using Webcatalog on thatserver. You need to either a) sell it off and go with someplace that hostsWebcatalog SITES, b) rent/lease a dedicated server, and install Webcatalogon it depending on transmittal needs I have seem some major dedicated serverhosting places offering Unix/Linux boxes for about $100/month, but don'tremember details of plans. c) buy your own server (figure you can pick up anIBM Netfinity PIII/500 128meg ram rack mounted system for $2500, RedHatLinux is cheap, and install Webcatalog, then just find a co-location company(though the dedicated box at most places will run you less then buying andco-locating your own box.But for the most part as someone that has worked with many startup, smallcompanies both on and off of the web, including our own company, you reallyneed to do more research and testing into a product before dropping $2500 onit, because from the sound of it you went from someone telling you Oh itseasy to setup, and to operate.. Well to some of us, that is true, and forothers that is not true... the only and best way to know is to play, test, and play some more with demo versions until you are sure of the product youare buying. I don't know if you are a PC or Mac user, but if you are a PCusers I would have bought RedHat Linux, installed it and Webcatalog on asystem and tested the product out, if on a Mac I would have bought VirtualPC 3.0, and installed RedHat on it, and tested WebCatalog again the sameway. This is like going out one day, buying a car, but you a) dont know how todrive yet, and b) never test drove the car.. then wondering why you cantfigure out how to use the car, or why the car does not meet your needs.Test Drive, Do research, Test Drive, Do Research... repeat as often asneeded.. the only way to do business in this world. All I can say is good luck.-------------------------------------------------------------Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server. To end your Mail problems go to
