The problem: the text is usually copied from Word which means special characters (quote marks, apostrophes and dashes to name a few). We are using Webcat 4x on NT. I do not have any problems achieving this using a Mac browser (Netscape or IE). My problem is on the PC versions of IE. As soon as they come across a special character, it lops off everything after it. I have tried [convertchars] tags but they did not work. I set up my own convert db and called it by [convertchars db=myconvert.db], but neither the Mac nor the PC seem to acknowledge the db. I have tried to convert the characters to their html version (i.e. ’) and to another character such as turning all quotes into inch marks(). Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?textarea: append: [append db=../db/article.db]asku=[asku]&atitle=[convertchars db=../db/myconvert.db][atitle][/convertchars]&adate=[adate]&a=[convertchars db=../db/myconvert.db][a][/convertchars][/append] myconvert.db contains: from to ‘ ' “ ” ? -------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
