I've just implemented a version of the artificial directory structure/custom errormessages.db to make clean URLs and was on the fence about using a [redirect] to the actual page using ?name=value&stuff or whether to [include] the intended page. Since this is for the search engines, how do search engines see redirects? I know their exact mojo is proprietary, but I'm wondering if they index links as they appear on the page, or the actual URLs as they finally resolve. Or is it more a matter of whether SEs follow URLs with ? and & in them? I went with the [include] tag and had to make all my other links absolute. It was a pain in the ass. Using redirect is much simpler, but maybe it won't achieve what I'm after? By the way, a little tip. My plan is to name the fake folders (well, they are real, just empty) something relevant to the site. For instance, I'm doing a page for an interior designer and calling the folder "design" since design isn't part of the business name. Also, before I include the main page, I'm setting a few text variables. Once I get it worked out about the redirect/include issue, I'll be happy to share my version of the system based on what Alain posted some time ago.
