I think you mean that the data is keyed into the MS SQL system and then the data is transferred to the box with Filemaker. What I cannot tell is what performs that transfer and how. Does the Filemaker box pull the data via ODBC out of the MS SQL database? Does the client code connect to both the MS SQL database and the Filemaker database via ODBC and transfer the data? If the latter is the case, then there should be no problem loading the MySQL ODBC driver onto the client box and using the current scheme. It's the difference between push and pull; the latter is push (where the client does all the work) vs the former being pull (where the server is supposed to to the heavy lifting).
