texte = Well after plenty of hacking around I came up with the solution. What was happening:When a page could not be found IIS was serving up its own 404 page. The request was not even going through WebDNA, I proved this by the fact that the errormessages.db was not being hit.I wanted errormessages.db to collect the missing page info so that I could serve up a dynamic 404 page. What to do:For a server wide solution (just do it for individual sites if required)1. Open IIS Manager2. Click web sites3. Get properties4. Select "Home Directories"5. Click "Configuration"6. Select the extension that you use ie .html, .tpl, .dna etc7. Click "Edit"8. Ensure that "Verify that file exists" is NOT checked. Now WebCat and its errormessages.db will handle missing files instead of the generic page served up by IIS.Stuart Tremainidfk web developments, sydney, australiaOn 21 Jul 2005, at 2:20 PM, Stuart Tremain wrote:> Hi>> Is it my imagination or does w2003 server handle 404 differently to > w2000.>> I am trying to handle 404 errors using the errors.db as I have done > on our w2k server but it redirects to the Windows 404 error page.>>> Stuart Tremain> idfk web developments, sydney, australia>>> -------------------------------------------------------------> This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to> the mailing list
