Up to now I'm very happy with Webdna and doesn't think or want to swoop.
There is just some webdesigner I'm working with who asks me to have CMS on my server.
I just wonder who to set this up with Webdna...

For now, we will probably stay with 6.2 and install the libmysqlclient.so.15. Thanks for the info and glad I asked. I had several issues back when we upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 and am trying to minimize finding anything we currently run on Ubuntu 8.04 not working after upgrading to 10.4.Will the official release of 7.0 have an installer for Ubuntu 10.4? When are you anticipating the release?
The idea with the FastCGI is to have no installer. We want to support all platforms, and the installation will be easy: just uploading a folder, chmod the FastCGI and add few lines in the httpd.confAbout the release date, we are waiting for a late investor, hopefully in February.- chris
Thanks,Steve

Up to now I'm very happy with Webdna and doesn't think or want to swoop.
There is just some webdesigner I'm working with who asks me to have CMS on my server.
I just wonder who to set this up with Webdna...

Hi Lawrence! the Enterprise edition (as well as the Commerce edition) is a bunch of applications loaded on top of the WebDNA executable. We will provide the source code for those interested in it. What we will offer as freeware (or accelerated with a serial) will be the executable itself. We will neither develop nor improve existing applications: it is up to you to do it, and share it with the community, for free or for a fee.We will improve the executable and possibly add more features, though only if it adds a real "plus" to WebDNA. There is not a lot that WebDNA can't do with a webpage, with 100 instructions only. For instance, PHP has 1,200 instructions and doesn't do databases.- chrisOn Jan 20, 2011, at 12:43, Lawrence wrote:
Hello Chris,Will you continue the Enterprise version? What about a CMS with the new version?LawrenceLe 15/01/11 22:29, christophe.billiottet@webdna.us a écrit :
WebDNA 7.0 is a freeware. You would need a serial number only if you want to unlock the acceleration features (you would see a 60% difference on a webserver with serious activity). This means the backup server, the development server will not need any serial number, at all. The only one that would need the acceleration serial number would be your webserver, and only if it serves many visitors. It would work fine in freeware mode anyway.Note the new serial number system is 100% different from the existing one: it requires a domain name, and a we will provide a serial number for this specific domain name. The same serial number will work for a single domain name, whatever the platform. So, if you move from OSX to linux or Windows, there is no need to change your serial number. On another side, if you shut down a website and start up a new one with a different domain name, then you would need a new serial number, if you are interested by the acceleration feature of course. The price of an acceleration serial number for a domain name will be $69 for the first domain name, and $29 for any additional domain name, provided that the subsequent serial numbers are bought withn 30 days after the intial purchase. We think this new system is fair and inexpensive and we hope the freeware mode will attract many new customers.- chrisOn Jan 15, 2011, at 17:07, Steve Raslevich wrote:
Hi Chris,7 sounds pretty easy to install. You mentioned you could email me 7 but that a separate copy will be needed for each website. I would like to give this a shot but not sure how many licenses I would need. I am only building and running one website which is located on a server at my business. However, I have a a second server running at the business as a backup and a third server at home I use for staging. The backup server is copying and updating all changes that occur in specific directories on the primary server. This includes the var/www directory, the cgi directory and several others. I am assuming the WebDNA license key is being stored within the var/ww/WebCatalog or the cgi directory. If I install 7 on the primary server and the 2nd backup server is copying everything from the primary server, I am assuming I would only need one license key for the pair of servers at the business and one for the staging server at my home. When ever it is convenient, please send me 7 for Ubuntu 10.4 and advise.Thank you,Steve Raslevich-------- Original Message --------Subject:Re: [WebDNA] Ubuntu 10.4 & WebDNA 6.2Date:Fri, 14 Jan 2011 19:41:24 -0200From:christophe.billiottet@webdna.usReply-To:<talk@webdna.us>To:<talk@webdna.us>References:<4D3079B1.4020502@northernsoundandlight.com> <780CA8EA-7318-4F92-AFE8-52F013929B10@webdna.us> <4D30809B.6010008@northernsoundandlight.com> <3DE9CD0E-9E9B-4C78-84ED-04B94FA4AA96@webdna.us> <4D30B035.6050708@northernsoundandlight.com>
