This subject of the thread was "Date: header on > emails - timezone problem perhaps" Thanks for these reminders. I posted several times in the 2010 thread, too. See how easy it is for me to forget about something I discuss with you guys until it actually happens to me? :) After re-reading that thread I can say one thing for sure. There is definitely a bug in WebDNA that is causing incorrect times to be set in the Date header when email is sent from WebDNA's eMailFolder during Daylight Savings Time. And using writefile to try to force WebDNA to set the correct Date header will NOT fix the problem because WebDNA still adds the wrong Date header which gets interpreted by the email client most of the time (but not all the time) ... One thing I learned this morning is that my email client usess WebDNA's bad Date header to calculate the local sending time for the email message -- which makes the displayed time wrong of course. But two other people I worked with this morning (all three of us in different time zones) received the same WebDNA emails with the bad Date headers, yet their email clients displayed the local times correctly. This is apparently because their email clients ignored WebDNA's bad Date header, instead favoring the Received header (added by another SMTP server) as the basis for determining the local message sent time. So my two colleagues were actually seeing the correct times in their email clients, whereas I was seeing the wrong times! ----------- The bottom line here is that this Date header bug is not fixed in version 6.0 which is the version that's installed on the server my client is using. I don't know if it has been fixed in version 6.2, but it would be nice to hear from someone who is using v6.2 so we would know one way or the other.
