Mabye just overlooked it.Hi Raymond,You're right, I *do* remember some of this being discussed now that you mention it. I think I was too busy at that time with other issues, and it never happened to me -- even though I have been using Eudora and WebCat's [sendmail] context for years -- so I probably assumed it was a problem with some intermediate mail server truncating the messages because of a bad configuration. One time I got a request from a talk list manager to stop using a mail signature that ends with a single dot, because their particular mail list software used a single dot to mark the end of its digest list messages. For some reason, the fix was too much of a hassle for that list manager to deal with himself, so he asked me to change *my* signature so it wouldn't break *their* messages in *their* list software. The fact of the matter is that they didn't have a clue as to how to configure their own software to work properly, and they didn't want to bother learning, so they took the easy way out and told me to change something I never should have had to change. But in the interest of remaining on the list, I accommodated their request.I think this webcat/eudora problem may *also* be related to an intermediate mail server or a bad configuration somewhere ...Someone said this issue is intermittent, that doesn't sound like a webcat or eudora problem to me, instead it sounds as if sometimes the mail gets sent via one path -- thru certain mail servers -- then another time it gets sent via a different path -- thru different mail servers. And one of those paths has a badly configured or badly behaving mail server in it, and that bad server is creating intermittent problems. On the other hand, if it really *IS* eudora that's causing the problem, maybe it's only the copy of eudora on a single computer.I haven't seen anything to indicate that the same problem is happening on anyone else's copy of eudora, that's why I asked for that person to send me some email so I can see if it will happen here on MY copy of eudora.Until the problem actually *does* happen with someone else's copy of eudora, it might make more sense to start by replacing the potentially bad copy of eudora with a new one -- downloaded fresh from Qualcomm web site to be sure it's not corrupted.Sincerely, Ken Grome 808-737-6499 WebDNA Solutions mailto:ken@webdna.net http://www.webdna.net Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
