This is a function of your odbc drivers. Set up a Data Source in your ODBC Control Panel, give it a name, password, etc. Then use the SQL context in webcat to perform database operations on the ODBC compliant database. You don't need version 4 to do this. Version 3 works just fine. You can do remote ODBC connections, but you run more risk of failure or performance degradation. I would only do this if you know that the connection between server and remote database is very fast and reliable. And remember that page rendering speed will be affected by the speed of that connection. Don't expect your web pages to stay as speedy as they are using Webcat's internal database.Mike ------------------------------------------------------------- Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server.
