[shownext] really is a horrible tag. Sorry, but> it's the truth. It's far too simplistic, and it depends on using commands to> pass way too much info between pages.Sorry, I have to disagree. [shownext] is incredibly powerful magic,if you use it correctly (which sadly means ignoring the example in thedocs). If you are concerned about using commands, then do [shownext method=post] which will use forms instead. All of the information required to managerepetitive queries for pages of records is what makes up [SearchString],including all of the blank fields you might have included in the searchoriginally. And most particularly, DO NOT INCLUDE command=search INTHE LINK! The docs are WRONG! [searchstring] includes EVERYTHING youneed to do the correct search, including the command itself.I think (not tested) this will print the numbers from 1-5 corresponding to the first 5 pages of records (on the first page) and 2-6 on thesecond page, etc. If you want to have absolutely only 1-5, you will need to be more clever than I can be on the fly.[text]SearchMax=[max][/text][!] grab the number of records/page [/!] [ShowNext position=begin&max=5] [math show=F]PageNo=ceil([start]/[SearchMax])[/math] [PageNo] [/ShowNext]John-- John PeacockDirector of Information Research and TechnologyRowman & Littlefield Publishing Group4720 Boston WayLanham, MD 20706301-459-3366 x.5010fax 301-429-5747-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .To unsubscribe, E-mail to: To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to Web Archive of this list is at: http://search.smithmicro.com/
