texte = [closedatabase] might do the same thing but only on a specific db. I use [flushdatabases] at the bottom of all my footer.inc files because it lets me open a db in my text editor and immediately see changes and edit the db manually while I'm coding. But I put it inside a showif that checks my ip address so that it runs only on my development server, never on a live website.
