etc.I cannot think of a reason why I would want to know the maximum found records (that's the Maximum in the admin pages, right?) though I am sure there is someone who would want to find it. The reason I want to pass the form variable along is so I can alter the number of records returned per page and only have to change it one place (i.e. in the original search).I use the following calculation to display the start/end number of each set on the page (obviously not formatted like this):Viewing Results [startat]- [HideIf [math][startat]+[max]-1[/math]>[NumFound]] [math][startat]+[max]-1[/math] [/hideif] [showif [math][startat]+[max]-1[/math]>[numfound]] [numfound] [/showif] of [numFound] Hit[HideIf [numFound]=1]s[/hideif]I have never been able to get the [start]/[end] stuff to work inside [shownext] and have been using the above for ages.John Peacock GHulbert@smithmicro.com wrote: > > >It appears that the construct [max] is evil.
