With a very small and underfunded software company you cannot always have what you want. We are lucky to have a version 7 at all! Fortunately WebDNA is powerful enough that the tools are there for you to "do it yourself" if you want it badly enough. I would do it if there were enough money available to pay for my programming time. But I would prefer to start with a clean slate and build an entirely new commerce system on v7 that's modern, flexible and easily customized with drop-in modules. To me this seems a much better approach for the future, rather than trying to make v7 backwards compatible with v6 simply because a few old users feel like upgrading to v7 for some reason. Anyways the current version of v7 is (I think) still backwards compatible with v6, except possibly for that [validcard] issue someone mentioned recently. You could try it and see, and if I'm correct then you can probably use the current v7 until the next upgrade is released.
