I created a 'public' workgroup in the CMS instance for the DRC, that allows anyone registered as a DRC member to submit modifications to any of the 'downloads' WebDNA templates, and also the reference documentation. Any "check-ins" would be reviewed prior to submission to the production site. Look in the TalkList Archives, for an submission by me dated 7/22/03, Subject: DRC Content Management Site. Then sections could be checked out by anyone who wants to contribute and would not be visible online until approved or validated by SMSI. This would allow a way to update the docs as well as a check for errors by SMSI. But, this too would require a great organized effort to develop. Helter-skelter additions of code examples and snippets would soon become like the list archives, a hundred pounds of dirt for every ounce of gold. Either way, online or pulp, it's a worthwhile project.
