Help! WebMerchant store suddenly won't process orders...

Hello. We have been successfully running a store for several years now. I was not the original programmer. Suddenly the store has developed a problem which I don't understand. After entering an order, the customer is brought (as usual) to a Thank you page. What's new is that at the bottom of that page, associated with the [purchase] tag, apparently, the following appears: Error: this shopping cart has already been submitted and is pending approval and then the order does not go through. The error log shows the following each time: 07/11/2001 12:04:09 [command] [ipaddress] Error: the database '[db]' could not be found or opened 07/11/2001 12:05:25 purchase 024.007.223.067 Error: this shopping cart has already been submitted and is pending approval Can anyone suggest what may be wrong or what I should do to diagnose this further? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as the store owner is getting (understandably) rather upset, and I am running up against personal lack of knowledge/understanding of WebMerchant.
