I pay nothing to host on my personal internet connection...=

I found many= years ago onsite hosting of 2 x 24row server racks, plus the fibre connecti= on, plus the specially fitted server room, plus electricity, plus, plus, plu= s was just too much to have to deal with. One Christmas night after a very l= ong lunch, plenty of wine and food, time with family and friends, my monitor= ing alarms went off. The benefits are numero= us. I have been able to down scale business premises, employ less staff, be f= ar more flexible with my working arrangements - sitting on a beach 3,500 kms= north of Sydney I am able to conduct business without clients knowing I am n= ot in my office at my desk.

For everyone that is host= ing sites on Mac from an on-site server you really need to ask yourselves:
1)  =E2=80=9CWhat is the importance of a good, stable= , fast web presence to my business?=E2=80=9D

2) &nb= sp;=E2=80=9CCan my business afford US$10.00 a month so that my website/s can= be hosted on the very latest  dedicated virtual Linux server with 2TB o= f data transfer a month ?=E2=80=9D

3) =E2=80=9CDoes= each new build of Apple OS cause me hosting problems?"

=
Then you will think that you don=E2=80=99t have command line expertise o= n a linux system, that is very easily overcome with a GUI that services thou= sands of servers around the world.

If security is a= n issue, you can have a rock solid firewall at no cost.

=
Backup your server for an additional US$2/month.

Got an idea that involves more hardware, a second server etc - then cloud= hosting gives you the ability to try it for a hour/day/week/month and all y= ou have committed is $10 or so.

If you employ a hos= ting company that specialises in WebDNA hosting such as Zarcrom then you don= =E2=80=99t even have to worry about the server environment, all you need to w= ork on is your website.

Have a chat with Christophe= about the possibilities that you can have with Zarcrom as a hosting partner= , if you want to go it alone on a cloud platform then please send me an emai= l if you need any further information.

Consid= er if trying to save $10/month is worth your time and anguish.

Kind regards

At 6am the next day I finally left the premises after g= etting everything back online after a switch had failed further upstream in t= he network to which I had no access. December 26 was the first day of my mis= sion to get rid of all the hardware. Now with all hosting left to the busine= sses that have 24x7 staff and their millions of dollars of investment in net= working, hardware and redundancy I still get a few issues with servers going= off-line, but the best part is it is usually a reboot that I can do with my= phone while still half asleep. If it is a more serious issue then I simple d= o what you would be doing with your own server equipment - the difference is= that I can do it anywhere I have internet connection and a minimum of an iP= ad or my old 12=E2=80=9D MacBook.
