You would be able to host ALL of your 100 domains on the one = server. Think of the solution as your Mac hosted on a remote location - you= can do whatever you want on the one server.=C2=A0

As developers we have nothing to sell except for our time. If I spent 2 ho= urs trying unsuccessfully trying to get an old machine in my office to work= , that would cost me $170 in lost income. One year on DigitalOcean would co= st me $60.=C2=A0

At 6am the next day I finally left the premises after getting everything= back online after a switch had failed further upstream in the network to w= hich I had no access. December 26 was the first day of my mission to get ri= d of all the hardware. If it is a more serious issue then I simple do what y= ou would be doing with your own server equipment - the difference is that I= can do it anywhere I have internet connection and a minimum of an iPad or = my old 12=E2=80=9D MacBook.

The benefits are numerous. I= have been able to down scale business premises, employ less staff, be far = more flexible with my working arrangements - sitting on a beach 3,500 kms n= orth of Sydney I am able to conduct business without clients knowing I am n= ot in my office at my desk.

For everyone that is hos= ting sites on Mac from an on-site server you really need to ask yourselves:=

1) =C2=A0=E2=80=9CWhat is the importance of a good, sta= ble, fast web presence to my business?=E2=80=9D

2)= =C2=A0=E2=80=9CCan my business afford US$10.00 a month so that my website/= s can be hosted on the very latest =C2=A0dedicated virtual Linux server wit= h 2TB of data transfer a month ?=E2=80=9D

3) =E2= =80=9CDoes each new build of Apple OS cause me hosting problems?"

Then you will think that you don=E2=80=99t have comman= d line expertise on a linux system, that is very easily overcome with a GUI= that services thousands of servers around the world.

<= div>If security is an issue, you can have a rock solid firewall at no cost.=

Backup your server for an additional US$2/month.<= /div>

Got an idea that involves more hardware, a second = server etc - then cloud hosting gives you the ability to try it for a hour/= day/week/month and all you have committed is $10 or so.

If you employ a hosting company that specialises in WebDNA hosting su= ch as Zarcrom then you don=E2=80=99t even have to worry about the server en= vironment, all you need to work on is your website.

Have a chat with Christophe about the possibilities that you can have wit= h Zarcrom as a hosting partner, if you want to go it alone on a cloud platf= orm then please send me an email if you need any further information.=C2=A0=

Consider if trying to save $10/month is worth you= r time and anguish.

Hi Brian

Ha= ve a look at DigitalOcean, they have a $5/month solution.=C2=A0

Send me an email if you have any = questions or help.=C2=A0

I found many years ago onsite host= ing of 2 x 24row server racks, plus the fibre connection, plus the speciall= y fitted server room, plus electricity, plus, plus, plus was just too much = to have to deal with. At 6am the next day I finally left the premises after getting everything= back online after a switch had failed further upstream in the network to w= hich I had no access. December 26 was the first day of my mission to get ri= d of all the hardware. Now with all hosting left to the businesses that hav= e 24x7 staff and their millions of dollars of investment in networking, har= dware and redundancy I still get a few issues with servers going off-line, = but the best part is it is usually a reboot that I can do with my phone whi= le still half asleep.

Kind regards
