What cloud service did you use.

I have had nothing but trouble trying = to install 8.2 on Linode, it will just not work without intervention = from WebDNA support.

8.5.1 will install and run perfectly but 8.2 has a = problem.

I think MySQL made some changes to the security = in 5.7. I guess WebDNA does not support that. I was really hoping to use = 5.7 since they have a great replication system built right into the = platform.
 
I am able to connect to = 5.7 using TOAD from the same Windows7 machine.

Can you connect to the external MySQL from the = command line ?
 
If not, then I suggest a permissions/firewall problem = at the MySQL server.
 
Remember to restart MySQL after changing any = settings.

What cloud service did you use.

I have had nothing but trouble trying = to install 8.2 on Linode, it will just not work without intervention = from WebDNA support.

8.5.1 will install and run perfectly but 8.2 has a = problem.

No luck on connecting to MySQL 5.7
 
I think MySQL made some changes to the security = in 5.7. I guess WebDNA does not support that. I was really hoping to use = 5.7 since they have a great replication system built right into the = platform.
 
I am able to connect to = 5.7 using TOAD from the same Windows7 machine.

Can you connect to the external MySQL from the = command line ?
 
If not, then I suggest a permissions/firewall problem = at the MySQL server.
 
Remember to restart MySQL after changing any = settings.
