It has been such an issue over the years that I have another s= erver set up specifically to ping each of my other webDNA servers to look fo= r that error message.

At least once a day one= of my servers goes down with that error message. The pinging server emails m= e within five minutes and I use Webmin from any device to login to stop, the= n start the webDNA daemon again.

The whole set up limits my abi= lity to be off the grid. And I have to say that my servers know when I am. M= y servers love to fail when I am on an airplane, swimming, or taking a jungl= e walk!

Connecting as root and try to restart WebDNA.

do a

./WebCatalogCtl stop
followed by
./WebCatalogCtl start

from the /WebDNA folder

If there is a problem, you should get some debug info.

You can also do

/etc/rc.d/init.d/WebCatalogCtl stop
followed by
/etc/rc.d/init.d/WebCatalogCtl start

This is a common occurrence on all my W= ebDNA servers running 6.x on my RedHat and CentOS servers.
<= br>

It appears that your WebCatalogC= TL file is in the WebCatalogEngine folder.  On my server the WebCatalog= Engine folder is in the default location here:

/usr/lib/cgi-bin/WebCa= talogEngine

I just tried the stop and start commands with the correct path and they work= ed fine. Thank you!

I tried your suggestion but i= t seems there is no WebDNA folder:

-bash: cd: /var/www/WebDNA: N= o such file or directory

What shall I try next?

Connecting as root and try to restart WebDNA.

do a

./WebCatalogCtl stop
followed by
./WebCatalogCtl start

from the /WebDNA folder

If there is a problem, you should get some debug info.

You can also do

/etc/rc.d/init.d/WebCatalogCtl stop
followed by
/etc/rc.d/init.d/WebCatalogCtl start
